This Week in Travel – June 19 – 2021

This week we’ve seen lots of fun and exciting announcements.  Things are starting to get back to “normal” and we’ll continue to see other great announcements.

We are so happy to hear the nighttime fireworks spectaculars are returning to both Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot!   There’s no better way to end a day at the Magic Kingdom than watching the “Happily Ever After” fireworks presentation.  And over at Epcot, Epcot Forever is a new spectacle of fireworks, music, and lighting effects over World Showcase Lagoon.

My wife Leslie and I will be at the Walt Disney World Resot in July to welcome the fireworks back at both the Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot. I’m sure we’ll have lots of pictures, videos and stories to share, we can’t wait to see the sky light up over the castle again!

Disney also announced this week that Animal Kingdom Lodge is set to reopen on August 26, 2021, providing yet another resort option for upcoming stays.  And for even more fun this fall, additional dates were announced for Disney After Hours Boo Bash.  Get ready for frightfully fun experiences at this spooktacular event.

Things are also continuing to open up at Disneyland in California. The Disneyland Hotel is reopening July 2 and fireworks will resume on July 4th with “Mickey’s Mix Magic”

We can’t leave out Disney Cruise Line and their announcement of the fall 2022 itineraries.  Halloween on the High Seas sailings and Very Merrytime Cruises return next October, November and December of 2022.  If you haven’t seen and experienced the Disney ships decorated for the holidays you don’t know what you’re missing.  Now’s the time to discover all Disney Cruise Line has to offer.

It’s beginning to more and more feel like the world is returning to normal. Social distancing requirements are relaxing as well as mask requirements in outdoor areas. If you have questions we’re here to help you with your magical vacation plans, contact us today1

Disney Cruise Line Fall 2021 Itineraries

Disney Cruise Lines loves to keep us on the edge of our seats, impatiently waiting for them to announce future sailings. Prior to last week, Disney’s itineraries were available to book through September 2021. And finally, last week, Disney has extended the sailing schedules through December 2021.

The Disney Magic will return from Europe and head to New York City at the end of September 2021, where she will offer sailings from New York to Bermuda and Canada before repositioning to the Caribbean in November 2021 for the remaining winter months.

The Disney Wonder will reposition from Alaska to San Diego at the end of September 2021, before sailing the Panama Canal in early November 2021, where she will end in Galveston, Texas.

As always, the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy will remain at Port Canaveral offering Bahamian and Caribbean cruises. Disney announced a really cool 8-night itinerary in October 2021 on the Fantasy, offering unique ports like St Maarten and Antigua. And of course, every Bahamian and Caribbean sailing will include a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas.

Check out our recent video highlighting the new Fall 2021 itineraries, along with Disney Cruise Line’s new Flexible Booking Policy, giving you peace of mind when booking your next cruise.

Book your next cruise with Peace of Mind!

There is no doubt, COVID has impacted the travel industry in a major way. That’s probably an understatement – COVID has completely halted the travel industry. That does not mean the travel industry is gone forever! In fact, lots of destinations, resorts, and countries are starting to open back up and welcome travelers.

Over the last 5 months, I have witnessed how suppliers, resorts, destinations, airlines, and every other aspect of the travel industry have handled the crisis. And you might be surprised to learn that some of the best and hardest working in the business have been the Cruise Lines.

The cruising industry were some of the first to be affected by the COVID crisis. Undoubtedly, they’ve taken some of the hardest hits, and will most likely be the last to fully recover. Yet they have stayed strong, stayed in communication, and worked endlessly to put in place even stricter Health and Safety regulations than ever before. On top of all of this, cruise lines have also put out some incredibly generous and well thought out Peace of Mind booking policies.

Personally, as a Travel Advisor and avid traveler, I cannot wait to get back on a cruise ship!

If you love to cruise but are nervous to book a future cruise, you are not alone! This is why the cruise lines have gone to such extremes to make you feel comfortable. Take a look at the highlights of the major cruise line’s new booking policies, which allow you to book a cruise now, lock in low rates, and not lose sleep over it.

Remember to keep dreaming about travel! When you are ready to cruise again, we are ready to guide and support you through the process.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines

Royal Caribbean will let you cancel any cruise that sets sail from now through April 30, 2022. As long as you cancel at least 48 hours before your sail date, you’ll receive a Future Cruise Credit. The credit is valid to book and sail by December 31st, 2021, or 12 months after the date that you canceled your original sailing — whichever is further.

Norwegian Cruise Lines

Disney Cruise Line

To give you more peace of mind, Disney Cruise Line is launching a temporary Cruise Date Flexibility option, allowing Guests the option to change their sail date up to 15 days prior to their cruise. This means that for any new or existing cruises booked prior to August 31, 2020, for sailings through March 31, 2021, you can change your sail date up to 15 days before departure.
